The scope

What I work on

Current assortment performance, customer segments, use cases, competitive gaps, product positioning, channel fit, commercial assumptions, and potential cannibalization. Where appropriate, I develop marketing tests to improve the evidence behind a product decision.

The review distinguishes opportunities that can be acted on now from those that need additional validation. This makes it easier to allocate launch resources and explain the choice to your team.

Evidence and limitations

How we evaluate the work

We evaluate customer fit, demand evidence, margin assumptions, cannibalization risk, inventory exposure, and acquisition requirements. Product hypotheses remain hypotheses until validated.

Clear expectations

Questions before we start

Do you choose products for us?

I develop and prioritize recommendations with your team. Final product and investment decisions remain with the business and should consider the operational and financial inputs required for that decision.

Can you evaluate variants and bundles?

Yes. These can be reviewed alongside adjacent products, with attention to customer value, channel fit, demand, and overlap with the existing range.

How does this differ from a launch project?

Assortment strategy identifies what to pursue and why. A launch project defines how to introduce the selected product and create demand for it.
