External traffic consulting for Amazon US brands

A click to Amazon is only useful when the product, message and buying conditions support it. I help Amazon US brands plan external acquisition around the listing customers will actually see, with a measurement plan that separates channel activity from the commercial decision.

The commercial starting point

Build the route from audience promise to a buyable product

An external campaign often fails before the click reaches the listing: the creative promises a use case the page barely explains, the featured variation is unavailable or the offer differs from the advertised one. My first step is to trace the US customer journey from the source message to the specific Amazon.com destination. We identify which product, audience and buying moment the campaign is meant to serve. That journey determines the test. A creator recommendation, a paid social ad and a high-intent search click require different evidence and budget boundaries. I define the offer, available stock, creative responsibilities and reporting window before choosing a channel mix. Traffic volume is a delivery metric; the project is judged against the customer behavior and product economics the test was designed to examine.

The decisions this project should resolve

Keep creator and listing promises aligned

Map the product claims, demonstrated features and expected buying conditions before approving creator material. A strong recommendation should lead to a page that confirms the same product truth. Identify which variation is shown and how customers reach it, rather than sending every creative to a broad storefront.

Choose a useful destination

A direct product page, Brand Store or explanatory website page serves a different step in the journey. Compare the customer's likely questions and the information available at each destination. The brief specifies where the click lands and why that route is appropriate for the particular audience.

Define the measurement boundary

Keep source-platform reporting, Amazon attribution and total product sales as separate views. Document the tagging and reporting available for the campaign before launch. This makes it possible to discuss what the traffic contributed without adding overlapping platform totals or treating every attributed order as an incremental sale.

How we work

A defined scope, from evidence to the next action

Work is delivered remotely with your Amazon, creative and acquisition owners. We agree the product set, channel responsibilities, budget limit and approval points. Where a specialist partner runs production or media buying, the project defines that handoff explicitly so message, destination and measurement do not drift into three disconnected workstreams.

Audit the current path

Review the source message, mobile destination, selected variation and purchase conditions. Record avoidable friction, missing product information and stock limitations. Choose the smallest test that can resolve the commercial question.

Prepare a controlled campaign brief

Specify audience, product proof, creative format, destination, tagging and spend boundary. Assign the people who approve claims and availability. Establish what must be true before traffic begins and who can pause it.

Review channel and product evidence

Compare source behavior with destination and product reporting over the agreed window. Look for continuity problems as well as media inefficiency. Recommend whether to scale, revise the message, change the route or stop the test.

Questions before we scope the work

Can this include creators as well as paid advertising?

Yes. Creator activity and paid acquisition can sit in one commercial plan, with their production, usage and measurement responsibilities separated. The starting point is the customer journey, not a requirement to activate every channel.

Is this a US-only client service?

The scope here is Amazon US sales, not the location of the team. Canadian and European brands can use it for their US listings. A different domestic marketplace needs its own offer and measurement review.
