Start with the customer and the commercial decision
An account sales total can hide the product decision the team needs to make. A strong variation may be unavailable while a weaker item absorbs stock, or advertising may be driving demand the supply plan cannot sustain. I review the product map and availability alongside the sales and campaign evidence before calculating another account-wide growth measure.
We agree which records describe saleable inventory, which period should be compared and who approves the product economics. The reporting then groups items by the decision they need: acquisition review, replenishment, offer improvement or slow-stock action. That makes the analysis useful across functions rather than leave each team optimizing its own dashboard.
