Yes, Ukraine is primarily defending itself against Russian aggression.
But at the same time, it is doing the whole world
an invaluable service. Without Ukraine, the Russian beast will attack the Western world more and more boldly, picking
out those who are wounded, weakened, or gaping. Especially if some other predator joins its hunt. Without Ukraine, the
world is doomed. That is why it is not Ukraine that is asking the world community to stand up for it. In fact, it is the
whole world (implicitly) asking Ukraine to become its shield today.
Every civilized person today, no matter where he or she lives, must wonder, "What else can I do so that the Ukrainian
army can defeat the Russian aggressor sooner?
Our common goal is to drive the beast back to where it crawled out of -
into its musty prehistoric swamp. If the man-eating bear cannot be re-educated, it must be isolated and chained up. This
is the only way the world can improve its chances of stable peace and prosperity in the future. There is almost no hope
that the Russian elite will eliminate its deranged leader or that millions of Russians will come out in mass protests,
as Ukrainians did in 2014.
No one can say what kind of financial tranche, arms shipment or new sanction will help achieve critical mass to make the
aggressor howl in pain, give up his insane plans and back down. Ukraine will do its hard work anyway. But today,
literally every action by a citizen of any country is extremely valuable and important.
